The present invention relates to an apparatus for absorbing an impact, which is coupled to the rear side of a bus and reduces a force conveyed to a rear extension frame, thereby reducing injuries of passengers on a bus. The apparatus comprises: a rear end member which is coupled to the end of a rear extension frame extended toward the rear side of a vehicle in the width direction of the vehicle; a rear pillar placed in the up-and-down direction on both sides of the rear end member; a mounting plate fixed at and coupled to the internal side of the rear end member that supports the rear end member and the rear pillar; and a hinge assembly coupled to the external side of the rear end member and the rear pillar in the width direction of the vehicle for the rear end member to be able to rotate. The rear end member rotates by the hinge assembly during the rear end collision of a bus and reduces a rear impact conveyed from the rear end member to the rear extension frame. |
