Digitising of analogue audio signals uses an input transducer for producing an analogue input audio signal and an input stage 209 which has an adjustable input impedance. A plurality of adjustable gain stages 207 are provided before an input signal is supplied to an analogue to digital converter 215. A control processor 203 presents a graphical interface to a user which may have a touch sensitive screen 213 from which transducer-related data is manually selected. The control processor 203 includes program instructions to determine appropriate adjustments to the adjustable input impedance and the adjustable gain stages in response to the manually selected data. These adjustments are made by the activation of relay devices activated by the control processor 203. The analogue signal may be derived from a vinyl record and the transducer may be a moving magnet or coil cartridge. The adjustable input impedance may include adjustable capacitance. |
