A biodegradable polymeric hydrogel composition comprising a water-soluble poly(hydroxyethyl aspartamide) (PHEAAC) having an acrylate group polymerized with a water soluble poly(succinimide) having an amine group to form a β-aminoester linkage between the acrylate group of the PHEAAC and the amine group of the poly(succinimide);
wherein the poly(hydroxyethyl aspartamide) (PHEAAC) has a molecular weight in the range of 5,000 to 22,000 Da and has an acrylate modification of between 5 mole % and 53 mole %; and wherein the amine group is selected from the group consisting of primary and secondary amine. |
