The present invention is to improve a measurement reliability and user convenience of an air fuel ratio measurement device by automatically calculating an actual oxygen concentration in the atmosphere to improve the measurement reliability of the air fuel measurement device and self-calibrating errors occurred in the air fuel measurement device based thereon. The present invention provides the air fuel ratio measurement device having an active self-calibration function and a control method thereof, wherein the air fuel ratio measurement device comprises: an oxygen sensor to measure oxygen concentrations; a temperature measurement unit to measure atmospheric temperatures; a humidity measurement unit to measure atmospheric humidity; a pressure measurement unit to measure atmospheric pressures; an atmospheric oxygen concentration calculation unit for calibration to calculate actual atmospheric oxygen concentrations using the atmospheric temperatures, humidities, and pressures measured by the temperature measurement unit, the humidity measurement unit, and the pressure measurement unit; a calibration value calculation unit to calculate the calibration value of the air fuel ratio measurement device in accordance to a difference between the atmospheric oxygen concentrations for calibration and the atmospheric oxygen concentrations measured by the oxygen sensor; a calibration value reflection unit to reflect the calibration value calculated by the calibration value calculation unit to the air fuel ratio measurement value measured by the oxygen sensor; and an output unit to output the calibrated air fuel ratio measurement value. |
