Suggested is a light emitting diode having a structure for uniform current spreading, capable of improving external quantum efficiency by blocking a current channeling phenomenon and preventing local deterioration and aging. The diode includes a first branch electrode which is spatially separated from a transparent layer located on the light emitting structure including a first semiconductor layer, an active layer, a second semiconductor layer, is arranged on the second semiconductor layer, and is extended in the longitudinal direction of the first semiconductor substrate, a first electrode pad which is electrically connected to a connection part, a first blocking layer which is formed on the light emitting structure and electrically insulates the first electrode pad and the connection part from the light emitting structure, and a second blocking layer which includes a second electrode pad for supplying a current to the transparent electrode layer on the second semiconductor layer and a second branch electrode which is parallel to the first branch electrode, is formed on the second semiconductor layer to electrically insulate the second electrode pad and the second branch electrode from the second semiconductor layer. |
