PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a POS terminal device that can extract an image of a commodity from an image photographed by imaging means to contribute to the improvement of a recognition rate of commodities.SOLUTION: A POS terminal device 1 includes an imaging unit 2, a distance measurement unit 4, and a commodity image extraction unit 6. The imaging unit 2 photographs an object to create an image. The distance measurement unit 4 measures the distance to the object corresponding to the image created by the imaging unit 2. The commodity image extraction unit 6 extracts, from the image created by the imaging unit 2, an image section corresponding to a position at which the distance measured by the distance measurement unit 4 is within a predetermined first range, as an image of a commodity.
