PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively producing a fiber-reinforced resin material having stable mechanical strength by suppressing inhibition of a polymerization reaction of &egr;-caprolactam.SOLUTION: There is provided the method for producing fiber-reinforced resin material by a polymerization reaction of &egr;-caprolactam impregnated in a reinforcing fiber by using &egr;-caprolactam and a catalyst and a cocatalyst for the polymerization reaction of the &egr;-caprolactam. The method includes at least a step of sealing a mixed powder in which &egr;-caprolactam powder 5 containing the catalyst and &egr;-caprolactam powder 6 containing the cocatalyst are mixed, into a film 1 and 2 together with the reinforcing fiber 7, a step of heating the mixed powder sealed in the film 1 and 2 to less than a temperature at which the polymerization reaction initiates thereby melting the mixed powder, and impregnating the molten &egr;-caprolactam into the reinforcing fiber 7, and a step of heating the &egr;-caprolactam impregnated in the reinforcing fiber 7 to a temperature at which the polymerization reaction initiates or higher thereby performing the polymerization reaction on the &egr;-caprolactam. |
