PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a char supply hopper, a char recovery device and a gasification furnace system each capable of accurately measuring char.SOLUTION: The char supply hopper comprises: a char supply hopper body that supplies separated char to a coal gasification furnace side; two or more sheath pipes 121(122) that are inserted from a side wall of the char supply hopper body and that are provided so as to be aligned with one another in the vertical axis direction; a radiation source 101 that is provided within the sheath pipe 121 and that irradiates the inside of the char supply hopper body with γ-rays; and a γ-ray detector that is provided within the sheath pipe (122) and that detects the γ-rays with which the inside of the char supply hopper body has been irradiated. The cross-section of each sheath pipe 121(122) has a shape that is provided with a tapered section 200 having an apex angle on the upper edge thereof.
