PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device configured to correct display color while preventing reduction in brightness, and a method of controlling the display device.SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes an image forming section 30 having a light source 31, and an image processing section 10. The image forming section 30 displays a projection image P on the basis of input image data D1. The image processing section 10 corrects the image data on the basis of correction data. The image processing section 10 selects first correction data or second correction data, to correct a color to be drawn by a modulation section 32. The first correction data enables adjustment of the display color of the projection image P to a reference color. The second correction data enables adjustment of the display color of the projection image P from the reference color to a color within a preset allowable range. |
