[Also in Group XXXVI] A plate 2 carrying 90 degrees spaced recording and monitoring heads which rotate to scan successive oblique tracks on a 180 degrees wraptype television recorder (Figs. 1, 2 (not shown)) has the leads to the heads taken to separate sets of slip-rings 10, 19, the leads and rings being mutually screened by a disc 27 and a tube 8. The recording head leads 15, 15<SP>1</SP>, duplicated to reduce inductance, are taken through the centre tube 8 to duplicated slip rings 10, 10<SP>1</SP> and the monitor head leads 24, 24<SP>1</SP> are taken outside the tube 8 to triplicated rings 19, 19<SP>1</SP>. Brush-holders, Fig. 5, are arranged at 90 degrees, the brushes being slidably supported in insulating tubes 11, 12 and 20, 21 respectively. The tube 8 serves also as a slip-ring for an earthing brush 28. Shields 25, 26 screen the respective sets of brush-gear and the leads (not shown) therefrom.</p> |
