A waterproofing material filling gap between shingles and a method of waterproofing the shingles are provided to completely fill a gap between shingles, to prevent water from penetrating through the gap, and to prevent slip during construction. The waterproofing material may comprise: a first coating material including a ceramic powder, a pigment, and an adhesive resin; mortar; and water, or may have a second coating material that is comprised of: the first coating material; and at least two from among 1-10 wt% of butyl acrylate resin, 0.1-10 wt% of phthalic acid ester emulsion, 0.1-5 wt% of epoxy emulsion or phenol emulsion, and 0.1-10 wt% of polyoxyethylene octyphenyl ether emulsion. After spreading the waterproofing material on the surface of shingles and the interval between shingles and drying them, the first and the second coating materials may be spread a plurality of times. |
