PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an optical film, with which generation of appearance defects originating from foreign materials and/or air bubbles is prevented even when the optical film is thin.SOLUTION: A production method of an optical film comprising a laminated structure in which at least a first film and a second film are bonded to each other via an adhesive layer or a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer composed of a cured product layer of an adhesive composition or a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, has a coating step in which foreign materials and/or air bubbles are removed by applying the adhesive composition or the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition to both the bonding surface of the first film and the bonding surface of the second film using a post-measurement coating method.
