<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a useful hydrocarbon compound in a high yield by treating a branched hydrocarbon with hydrogen, and a highly active hydrogenation catalyst of a branched hydrocarbon to be used in the method.SOLUTION: (1) A method for producing a hydrocarbon is characterized by reacting a branched hydrocarbon and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst having at least one element component (a) selected from elements of the fourth period, fifth period, and sixth period of the 8-11 groups of a periodic table supported by a carrier having basicity. (2) A hydrogenation catalyst of a branched hydrocarbon is characterized by having at least one element component (a) selected from elements of the fourth period, fifth period and sixth period of the 8-11 groups of the periodic table supported by a carrier having basicity.</p> |
