In the method of monitoring the colour of a fluid bath as described and claimed in the parent Specification upon detection of deviation of the colour of the fluid bath from that of the standard, there are added to the bath colour constituents to restore the colour of the fluid bath and its sample to that of the standard. A feed back arrangement for so restoring the colour is shown. In this arrangement a continuous sample is piped from a mixing chamber 3 into a cell 7, and the colour of the sample is compared with that of a standard by the arrangement described in the parent Specification. Any colour deviation results in an error signal which is used to actuate the appropriate solenoid operated valve 2a, 2b or 2c in the pipe line from the tank supplying a colour constituent to the mixing tank 3. Each valve on being opened may either add unit quantities to the mixing chamber until the error has been corrected or add at one time the correct quantity necessary to meet the deficiency.</p> |
