<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a reading position for a skim through to a suitable position along a sub scanning direction on a contact glass.SOLUTION: Image data at plural reading positions set in advance is acquired by an image reader, and the presence/absence of dust and the number of places where the dust has been detected at the respective reading positions are detected. The reading position is determined and set on the basis of positions where no dust has been detected, a reading position where the number of dust-generated places is the least, and a reading position where the number of pixels having black stripes generated by the dust is the least.</p> |
