PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral type separation membrane capable of keeping an excellent separation performance stably for a long period even if a high pressure is applied to the supply fluid side of a separation membrane pair.SOLUTION: A spiral type separation membrane comprises: a sealing member for closing a supply fluid passage formed between separation membranes, at an end part close to a permeation fluid collection pipe; and a protective layer arranged to cross a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the permeation fluid collection pipe for sticking to the feed fluid side face of the separation membrane.
