Disclosed is a method for registering and activating a specific function of an application to a hardware key in a portable terminal. The present invention is especially suitable for portable terminals including smartphones and tablets which employ a touchscreen. The present invention comprises the steps of: inducing selection and input of a hardware key when a key setting signal is input; and displaying a mapping screen list (or a function list) when the input signal is received from the hardware key, mapping the pertinent hardware key and the screen when the screen is selected then saving it in a shortcut key saving part. In a portable terminal, by saving a specific function of an application in a specific hardware key as a shortcut key, a rapid, accurate, and wanted input is possible in securities and banking transactions. |
