Provided in the present invention is a novel Phichia sp. strain with excellent ethyl caproate productivity, and a method of preparing fermented alcoholic drinks using the same. Provided is a Phichia fabianii AY42(deposition number KACC93176P) which is a Phichia sp. alcohol yeast with ethyl caproate productivity isolated from traditional yeast to not only improve various flavor and taste of traditional alcohol by using the same, but also increase freshness to have an effect of increasing competitiveness of traditional alcohol.
