PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that modifies an existing vibration structure so as to exhibit stable plastic deformation and energy absorption performance at the time of an earthquake.SOLUTION: A vibration prevention element 10 includes: a web erected on a base part 5; a pair of flanges 13a, 13b provided at both ends of the web 11; and stiffened plates 14a, 14b provided on the front and rear surfaces of the web 11, and bridged between the pair of flanges 13a, 13b. A part of the web 11 is removed so that the front and rear surfaces is penetrated, to form a cavity 12, and an additional steel plate 17 is provided so as to cover the cavity. |
