PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing apparatus configured to prevent developer from leaking through a developer outlet.SOLUTION: A developing apparatus 2 includes a developer container 22, first and second spirals 43, 44 for agitating and conveying developer in the developer container 22, and a developer roller 20 which carries the developer. The developer container 22 includes a developer discharge section 22h having an outlet 65 formed for discharging surplus developer in the developer container 22. The developer discharge section 22h includes a discharge screw having a rotating shaft 44b and a discharge blade 53. A blade large-diameter section 70 for preventing discharge of the developer is arranged in a part upstream of the outlet 65 in a developer discharge direction in the developer discharge section 22h.
