According to an aspect of the present invention, provided are a vehicle which induces a driver who drives for a long period of time to take a rest by searching places to take a rest and providing information on such places as a certain period of time passed after the driver started driving when the estimated time of driving to the destination set by the driver exceeds a certain time, and a control method for the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the vehicle comprises: an input part to which information on the setting of the destination is inputted by a user; a control part which creates a driving path to the set destination from the starting location and searches at least one stopover candidate located on the driving path or a point adjacent to the driving path when the estimated time for driving through the driving path is at or higher than a first reference time set in advance; and a display part which displays a guide popup on the searched stopover candidate.
