PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor that is able to achieve both security and power saving, by avoiding a re-authentication process for IEEE802.1X, resulting from link speed alteration during shift to power-saving condition, even when communication based on IEEE802.1X is valid.SOLUTION: An MFP 100 acquires the communication speed set information of the own device, and the communication speed set information of a communication apparatus (steps S402, S403), and acquires power-saving set information of the own device (step S404). On the basis of the acquired power-saving information, the communication speed set information of the own device and the communication speed set information of the communication apparatus, the MFP 100 alters and sets a communication speed so that the communication apparatus (switch 112) and the network are not disconnected during shift from normal power condition (first power condition) to a power saving condition (second power condition).
