PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte improved in oxidation resistance while maintaining proton conductivity so as to be used as an electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell and maintaining gas permeability (crossover) as low as possible.SOLUTION: A polymer electrolyte for a solid polymer fuel cell comprises: a hydrophilic part segment including a sulfonate group and having a structure represented by the following formula (1); and a hydrophobic part segment substantially including no sulfonate group.
