PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of fuel economy due to starting of an internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle having a variable valve device used for changing an operation characteristic of an intake valve.SOLUTION: A control device 200 is for use in travelling using drive force of a motor-generator MG2 by stopping an engine 100 when a vehicular requirement output required for a vehicle is smaller than a threshold, or using both the drive force of the engine 100 and that of the motor-generator MG2 by starting the engine 100 when the vehicular requirement output exceeds the threshold. A VVL device 400 is capable of selecting either of a first state, and a second state in which at least one of a lift amount of an intake valve and an operation angle thereof is larger than in the first state. When the first state is selected, the control device 200 sets the threshold higher than when the second state is selected. |
