The mold has engravings (33, 34) formed at a location at which a welding line is formed, for forming a relief masking element on the welding line. The masking element partially masks the welding line. The engravings have rectilinear excavations with full shape to form the relief masking element. The rectilinear excavations are aligned with respect to each other to form parts of the relief masking element forming a discontinuous masking pattern. An independent claim is also included for a plastic piece comprising a surface.
