The present invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning filter media and a cleaning method using the same. The apparatus for cleaning filter media comprises: an air supply unit supplying air at a preset air pressure so as to clean filter media to be cleaned; and a cleaning unit mounted with the filter media therein, and cleaning the filter media by using the air supplied from the air supply unit, thereby preventing the filter from being damaged and destroyed while the filter is cleaned by using the air, and reducing the time and the costs required for the cleaning operation as compared with the case of cleaning filter media by using pure water.
