The present invention is a submerged tunnel and a construction method thereof, wherein a cumbersome process is removed, construction costs are reduced, and underwater viewing is allowed. The present invention includes: a land tunnel connecting a road with a submerged tunnel, wherein a dock is formed by blocking the road and a submerged tunnel connection part connecting the sea with the land by a floodgate, seawater is pumped out, and a pier facility, on which the submerged tunnel is placed, is constructed; a tunnel main body, which has an asymmetry diamond-shape, including a storage positioned at a lower part thereof, which is filled with seawater to have buoyancy, and a high speed terminal with a plurality floor to be connected with the land tunnel; a lower pier, which has a seating part having a slanted surface same as the tunnel body and supports the tunnel main body by allowing a lower part of the tunnel main body to be seated; an upper cover, which is placed on the upper part of the tunnel main body and is coupled to the lower pier through a coupling part to support and protect the tunnel main body; and a submerged pier, which is coupled with the lower part of the lower pier and is fixedly installed at submerged bottom to support the lower pier, wherein waterproof work is conducted to each portion between the land tunnel and the tunnel main body, between the tunnel main body and the lower pier, and between the tunnel main body and the upper cover. |
