The present invention relates to a foreign object debris-detecting radar apparatus and a foreign object debris-detecting method for increasing a detection rate. The foreign object debris-detecting radar apparatus comprises: a transmitting antenna; a receiving antenna; a transmitting module for transmitting millimeter waves through the transmitting antenna with a periodic time difference for each frequency of the millimeter waves to configure the orientation of an azimuth, and varying the phases of the millimeter waves and transmitting the same through the transmitting antenna to configure the distance of detection; a receiving module for receiving millimeter waves through the receiving antenna; a signal processing module for detecting foreign object debris (FOD) by processing the signals of the received millimeter waves; and a control module for controlling the transmitting module to transmit the full bandwidth signals of the millimeter waves at a predetermined azimuth to increase a detection rate for the azimuth, or controlling the transmitting module to transmit the full bandwidth signals of the millimeter waves in a phase corresponding to a predetermined distance of detection to increase a detection rate for the distance of detection. According to the FOD-detecting radar apparatus for increasing a detection rate, as described above, FOD is searched for precisely at a higher detection rate by conducting beamforming for a specific azimuth and a specific distance of detection according to necessity while searching the FOD swiftly in a narrow bandwidth via periodic delay of each individual frequency. |
