The present invention relates to a back light unit and a liquid crystal display device using the same, which prevents malfunction such as bright lines or an escape of light in the left / right side of an incident light part of a back light and improves reliability, by altering shape or prefabricated structures of a light guide plate, comprising: at least one light source which generates light, arranged in at least one side of the inside of a support main; a light guide panel which outputs light by altering the traveling direction of an incident light of the incident light part, facing luminous surfaces of each light emitting source to the front surface, equipped in the support main; multiple optical sheets outputting lights vertically from the a light guide plate and an incident light surface by being arranged at the light guide plate; and a shading tape which fixes the light guide plate and the multiple optical sheets by being attached at the exterior part of the optical sheet arranged at the most front side and some parts in the front side of the support main, with at least one of the left and right sides from the incident light part of the light guide plate separated from the inside of the support main, forming and maintaining a gap. |
