<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and safely produce an epoxy compound by suppressing decomposition of hydrogen peroxide in a method for producing an epoxy compound, in which a compound having a carbon-carbon double bond is reacted with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalytic metal such as a tungsten compound and an onium salt.SOLUTION: The method for producing an epoxy compound, which produces an epoxy compound by reacting a compound having a carbon-carbon double bond with hydrogen peroxide to perform an epoxidation reaction, is characterized by: performing the epoxidation reaction in a two-phase solution comprising an aqueous phase containing at least one of a tungsten compound and a molybdenum compound, and an organic phase containing a compound having a carbon-carbon double bond, in the presence of an onium salt; and adding the hydrogen peroxide to the two-phase solution so that the hydrogen peroxide concentration in the aqueous phase is 7 mass% or less.</p> |
