[Also in Group XXV] A joint for connecting units of electrical equipment comprises female parts 4 and male parts 5 formed on the abutting faces of units 1, 2, and on the face 2a of unit 2, the shape and spacing of the parts being such that, in addition to the connected position shown, the units may be connected with unit 2 reversed or reversed and then rotated through 180 degrees. The joint may be used to connect switch housings arranged along a common axis, the parts 4, 5 being arranged alternately around the periphery of each housing in radial symmetry to the axis, Fig. 2 (not shown). The units 1, 2 may be secured in the connected position by locking members 10 inserted in the peripherally-open recesses 6 formed by the engagement of parts 4, 5, each member comprising a sector of a ring (in the case of circular housings) having a resilient tongue 14 engaging an undercut 16 in each recess 6 and having a recess 17 to enable the tongue 14 to be released. The units 1, 2 (and member 10) may be made from a synthetic thermoplastic and there may be a clearance between them when connected.
