<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a silica glass crucible of which the inner surface state (surface characteristics in the crucible) or the like is properly controlled.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a silica glass crucible, a silica powder layer 11 made of silica powder is heated and fused by arc discharge from a plurality of carbon electrodes 13 in a rotating mold 10. The manufacturing method of a silica glass crucible includes a preliminary step for designing in advance an optimum fusing temperature of a plurality of spots of the silica powder layer 11 at heating and fusing, a temperature measuring step for measuring an actual temperature of a plurality of the spots at heating and fusing, and a temperature controlling step for controlling the actual temperature of a plurality of the spots so that the actual temperature agrees with the optimum fusing temperature.</p> |
