This vibration damping device (10) comprises: a first attachment member (11); second attachment member (12); an elastic body (13); and a partitioning member (16) that partitions a liquid chamber, inside the first attachment member and having liquid (L) enclosed therein, into a first liquid chamber (14) and a second liquid chamber (15). A connection passage (30) that connects the first liquid chamber and the second liquid chamber is provided in the partitioning member. A diversion protrusion (31) is provided in the inner circumferential surface (30a) of the connection passage. A guiding surface (32) facing the connection passage and intersecting the axial direction (O) of the connection passage is provided in the diversion protrusion. A through-hole (34) that opens to both sides in the axial direction is formed by a protruding end section (31b) of the diversion protrusion (31b) and the other inner circumferential surface (30b) of the connection passage. The diversion protrusion causes the flow of liquid that has passed through the connection passage and reached the guiding surface to change towards the protrusion end section side. The guiding surface is formed in a recessed curved shape recessed in the axial direction. |
