The invention relates to protection means for a single-phase device supplied by a first line over which a three-phase transformer supplies a phase. The means include a device for periodically measuring the voltage on the first line, a device for detecting overvoltages in order to detect a first event relating to the voltage exceeding a first threshold; a relay for opening or closing the first line; and a control device for opening the relay when the first event occurs. The invention specifically relates to electricity distribution systems for the lighting of public facilities and highways.
