摘要 In the present invention, a magnetic field detection sensor is provided with a magnetoimpedance element (12) relying on the magnetoimpedance effect, and a negative feedback bias coil (14) for applying a bias magnetic field to the magnetoimpedance element (12), the magnetic field detection sensor detecting an external magnetic field from output obtained by applying an alternating current through the magnetoimpedance element (12). The magnetoimpedance element (12) has a non-magnetic substrate (12a), and a magnetic thin film (12b) formed on the surface of the non-magnetic substrate, the magnetoimpedance element (12) being provided with magnetic anisotropy such that the lengthwise direction of the magnetoimpedance element (12) is the direction of magnetic field detection, and an axis along which the magnetic thin film (12b) is easily magnetized is the same direction as the direction of magnetic field detection. What is thereby provided is a magnetic field detection sensor having reduced power consumption and increased detection accuracy while allowing the detection range to be increased.
