A developing cartridge (4) capable of being detachably arranged in a printer. The developing cartridge comprises a cartridge body (20) and a chip assembly (21), wherein the chip assembly (21) is arranged on a surface of the cartridge body (20) matching the printer, and comprises a chip fixing frame (212), a chip (213) and a chip assembly control mechanism. The chip assembly control mechanism can control the chip assembly (21) to be switched between the surface matching the printer and the surface facilitating the detection of the developing cartridge (4). While in use, the chip assembly control mechanism controls the chip assembly (21) to be used on the surface matching the printer, and during detection, the chip assembly control mechanism controls the chip assembly (21) to be switched onto the surface facilitating the detection of the developing cartridge (4), thereby facilitating the detection of the developing cartridge (4).
