PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film that has a small thickness and can exhibit target phase delay characteristics over a wide wavelength range, and a display device, such as a circular polarization plate, and a reflection type LCD, translucent reflection type LCD, or OLED.SOLUTION: There is provided an optical film 100 that includes an optical anisotropic polymer layer 101, and a liquid crystal layer 102 that is present on the polymer layer 101 and has an optical axis in a direction perpendicular to or forming 61.5 degrees with the optical axis of the polymer layer. The optical film 100 further has 1/4 wavelength phase delay characteristics. |
