<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-voltage power source capable of charging a photoreceptor surface in a charge-remaining state to a target potential.SOLUTION: A high-voltage power source according to the invention that superposes high-voltage AC voltage and high-voltage DC voltage and applies the superposed voltage to a charging member of an image forming apparatus includes: means that outputs first DC voltage having a first voltage value on the basis of an input pulse width modulation signal; DC voltage conversion means that converts the first DC voltage into second DC voltage and then outputs the converted voltage; means that boosts the second DC voltage and then generates high-voltage DC voltage; means that detects a positive peak value and a negative peak value of an AC component of the high voltage; and means that outputs third DC voltage having a third voltage value, which is equivalent to a value after multiplying a difference between an absolute value of the positive peak value and an absolute value of the negative peak value by a coefficientα, to the DC voltage conversion means. The DC voltage conversion means outputs the second DC voltage having a voltage value after subtracting the third voltage value from the first voltage value.</p> |
