<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternative method for administering methylnaltrexone and other opioid receptor antagonists, that exerts equivalent effects with less delivery amount of the antagonist, as well as a method not cumbersome as the subcutaneous injection.SOLUTION: The method of the invention administers particles to treat and prevent opioid-induced side effects in patients, where the particles comprise an opioid receptor antagonist and at least one additive, and the diameter of the particles is about 30-1000 nm. Further, such particles can be provided to chronic opioid users as well.</p> |
