The present invention relates to a negative-electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, and a method for manufacturing the same. The negative-electrode active material comprises a nanocomposite comprising a binary metal compound, carbon, and metal oxide. The negative-electrode active material for the lithium secondary battery according to the present invention is capable of improving initial capacity, initial efficiency, and lifetime characteristics when applied to a lithium secondary battery, as the initial irreversible reaction is suppressed and the volume expansion rate is reduced. The composite is used as a negative-electrode material for a secondary battery, especially a lithium secondary battery, and is capable of greatly enhancing cycle life while maintaining high capacity, unlike the existing negative-electrode materials for the secondary battery, especially the lithium secondary battery. |
