793,087. Baling-presses. LINDEMANN, W. June 4, 1956 [Oct. 1, 1955], No. 17220/56. Class 94(1). A baling press for fibrous material includes a press box which is charged by material entrained in air passing through the box. In one embodiment air is drawn by suction through perforations 7 in the box 1, air and material entering through conduits 8. Initial compression of the material by the air may be improved by applying intermittent pressure air on the inlet side in addition to the suction. The charge is compressed by a ram 9, tied and removed through a side door (not shown). In another embodiment, two open-ended boxes 13, 14 rotate about an axis I between a ram 23, and air inlet and outlet connections 15, 19. A box remains between connections 15, 19 until filled and is then rotated to rest between the ram 23 and a chamber 24. Each box has a loose bottom 25 which rises with the ram during compression of the material into the chamber 24. The material is tied and removed through a side door in the chamber. |
