An outdoor unit (7), which is provided with a portion of a primary refrigerant circuit (4) (said refrigerant circuit (4) being formed by connecting a compressor (11), an indoor-unit-side heat exchanger (14), an electronic expansion valve (15), and an outdoor-unit-side heat exchanger (19) by means of a primary refrigerant conduit (22)), is equipped with: a bypass circuit (5) that diverts the refrigerant discharged from the compressor (11) and flowing through the primary refrigerant circuit (4); a control device (51) that controls the flow volume of the refrigerant flowing through the primary refrigerant circuit (4) and the flow volume of the refrigerant flowing through the bypass circuit (5); and an outdoor unit base part (62) that supports the compressor (11) and the outdoor-unit-side heat exchanger (19). A snow protection pedestal (81) for supporting the outdoor unit base part (62) is provided beneath the outdoor unit base part (62), and the snow protection pedestal (81) is provided with a load-heating unit (3) in which a heat medium circulates, and which heats the surrounding area by exchanging heat between the heat medium and the refrigerant flowing through the bypass circuit (5). |
