PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having less burning phenomena even when a simple conversion method for directly converting an inputted interlace signal into a progressive signal.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device having FFS mode liquid crystal display elements arranged in a matrix comprises: a signal conversion part (17) for complementing an image interlace signal to be inputted by complementary data to convert it into a progressive signal; and a polarity switching part (XD) for switching the polarity of a pixel voltage generated on the basis of the progressive signal for each frame and repeating the same polarity for every n (three or more integers) frames. The complementary data uses data of the preceding line of the interlace signal.
