PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both reduction in a disk capacity resulting from retention of measurement data and retaining the measurement data necessary for event analysis.SOLUTION: A monitoring computer for monitoring a plurality of devices and a monitoring method implemented by the monitoring computer are provided. The monitoring computer includes a storage device storing therein measurement data on a plurality of time of the devices. The monitoring computer identifies a content and occurrence time of an event that occurs in each device; selects measurement data at the time that can be deleted from the plurality of time as a deletion target while referring to a deletion exclusion period determined from the identified event occurrence time and either an upper limit of a preset data size of the measurement data or preset measurement-data retention period; deletes the selected measurement data; and sets the deletion exclusion period from time a certain period before until time after the certain period with configuration change time as base time if the identified content of the event is a configuration change. |
