Process for the production of a synthesis gas, in which a gas mixture comprising carbon dioxide and hydrogen is brought into contact with a catalyst in order to produce carbon monoxide, the process being characterized in that the catalyst comprises iron and silver in a weight of silver/weight of iron ratio which is from 0.05 to 0.95. Catalytic reactor intended for the implementation of the process for the production of a synthesis gas.
