The system (20) has a set of detection elements (28) connected to an electric circuit breaker (26) by a data link (30) to send a triggering signal to the breaker during detection of a short-circuit. An electric switching apparatus (32) is provided for electric feeders (14) and controlled in a position selected among opening and closing positions corresponding to absence of circulation of electrical current in the feeders and flow of the current in the feeder. The data link simultaneously transmits the triggering signal for the circuit breaker and a control signal for switching apparatus. An independent claim is also included for an electric facility.
