A device (14) for creating a barrier (10) to resist unauthorised boarding a vessel. The device (14) comprises a mounting member (18), which facilitates connection of the device to a vessel. The mounting member (18) is connected in a substantially vertical orientation to, for example, a guardrail on the perimeter of a vessel. The device (14) also includes a fend plate (20) which defines a first sloped surface that extends outwardly and downwardly from a junction (22) with an uppermost edge of the mounting member (18) when the mounting member (18) is in an in use orientation. |
