The present invention relates to a method and a device for providing a one-time password (OTP) used as an authentication means and, more particularly, to a method and a device for providing an OTP in the form of sound information. The device for providing a sound OTP according to the present invention comprises: an OTP driving part for initiating generation of an OTP and locking the operation of an audio output part included in a mobile terminal of a user if a request for generation of an OTP is received from the user; an OTP generation part for generating an OTP using OTP generation information if generation of an OTP is initiated by the OTP driving part; and a sound OTP part for converting the generated OTP into a sound OTP signal and outputting the same through an exterior audio output device combined with the mobile device.
