The present invention relates to a separator for an electrochemical device and an electrochemical device comprising the same. The separator for electrochemical device is coated with a polyolefin based material and inorganic particles with a binder polymer composite which satisfies a preset condition. The separator for electrochemical device has porosity, permeability, and ion conductivity with a constant level even though the binder polymer composite is used. Thereby, it has high lithium ion conductivity and superior mechanical strength and superior electrolyte impregnation rate due to the lithium ion transfer capacity of the inorganic particles.
