Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for using an image as a means of storing and moving an additional image by enabling an additional image to be inserted or extracted to an image without undermining the image. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for using an image as a means of storing and moving an additional image comprises the steps of: selecting a channel to insert the additional image among an alpha channel, a red channel, a green channel, and a blue channel wherein each channel constitutes each pixel of the image; representing the value of the selected channel of the pixel of the image as a sample value of less capacity than a capacity of a given value; generating control information containing the information indicating the selected channel, and the sample value; and replacing the value of the selected channel of the pixels of the image with the control information and the additional data. |
